The massive data which contains in the database of the Instagram got leaked.
According to the report of TechCrunch, the database existed on the Amazon Web Services (AWS) and the data on this was not encrypted or protected and the details of the Instagram account are completely public.
This database was discovered by Anurag Sen and it’s a successfully running database but at the time of reporting it was found that the details like username, email address, bio, profile picture ,whether the account is verified or not, number of followers and following, location including the state and the country etc were exposed and they were not enrypted.
To find the leaker of the data, it was discovered that the database belongs to Chtrbox, a Mumbai-based social media marketing company. The company pays celebrities and influencers to share sponsored posts.
The database has information about celebrities, instagram influencers, food bloggers etc.When TechCrunch contacted the celebrities with leaked information, they denied the association with the Chtrbox.
Facebook, the company that owns Instagram, has issued an official statement about the matter:
“We are trying to take this issue serious and we are trying to find whether the exposed data contains email and phone numbers too and also inquiring with Chtrbox how this data came to public.”
Now the database was completely offline but it was still unclear that how the private information of celebrities made public.
